So here goes most might not like this but its how I feel. 1. Why the hell did Satan or A T and T not get off the butts and build out the network when they dam well new apple's Iphone was coming. Yes I will get "how do I expect A T and T to know that Iphone's users would clog their network. Here is my answer "always plan fore the worst case scenario and have a future plan laid out." So instead of correcting their signal issues, network congestion Satan or A T and T now is looking to buy T-mobile. Here is a thought! We Mobile users left some form of a company to join because of the low prices, customer service is very high quality and to bee fare barely any dropped calls. Well at least where I live here in NC. So... saiten or A T and T get off your butts and dish out the doe to fix your problems, buying a company out and creating a monopoly will not help your network in the long run. Fore my final post here, if this merge does happen "Verizon here I come!!”

Every carrier has issues, and that includes Verizon. You just have to decide as an individual which carrier has the least annoying ones for your needs. For example, if you're planning to text more than talk, dropped calls may not bother you as much. Personally, I find that AT&T's signal strength varies quite widely. I literally get 4 of 5 bars in certain parts of my place, 3 of 5 bars in others, and 2 of 5 bars in others. However, I found T-Mobile gave me a consistent 3 of 5 bars. So although AT&T's signal is better at its best, if I need to walk around my place while talking, as I often do, my calls will drop more often with AT&T, and yes, it's annoying at times. But to me, it's worth it, because I got a phone that was completely accessible right out of the box. Nothing with T-Mobile could've given me that luxury, at least not completely.

I live in NC and have had one dropped AT&T call in 3 years. Part of the problem is also that the iPhone is not particularly good phone, reception and voice clarity scored very low on a Consumer REport study (sorry, I don't have the URL handy).
And, yes, if someone bothers you by, you know, offering better srvice, it is totally a solution to just buy them and make sure their service becomes as crappy as yours. Not a good solution for consumers, and I am not in favor but, you know, it is a solution, cheaper than upgrading your own network *grin*.
No fan of AT&T per se, but I can't say they're any worse than other carreirs I've tried, Altel was awful,Sprint had lousy lousy customer service and I can't even remember what other companies I've tried.

'Cause they're stupid. Lol. But yes, every carrier has its problems. Sorry you're having issues.

How much have you read on this subject?
for the forseaible future, the companies will continue to run as 2 different ones. What T-mobile and AT&T will share are some network bands. they might fully murge atsome point, but everything i've read points to things going as I have listed them.

hmm things I have read are saying that this is not the case. A T and T will adventually dismantal t-mobile's 3g net work. What the means fore any of us T-mobile users who have a 3g phone we will have to upgrade to a hand set that A T and T sells. Again I want no part in A T and T this is why I chose t-mobile.

i went to AT&T, and never plan to look back. vzw is dishonest and their service leaves some to be desired in remote places like where i live. AT&T has been amazing to me since i signed up with them and their signal is absolutely amazing. i've had one dropped call, and i'm not even sure it was my phone that did it.
